Dr. Anthony Simmons hails from the working-class town of Goodwater, AL where he graduated from Goodwater High School as Valedictorian and was recognized as an All-State football player. He is a retired Navy Captain - surface warfare officer. He attended Austin Peay State University on a football scholarship and graduated with a degree in Robotics. He holds a master’s in mechanical engineering from Naval Postgraduate School, a master’s in military operational art and science from Air University, and earned his doctorate in strategic leadership from Regent University. He is a peerless leader who brings boundless insights and expertise to the leadership coaching profession and organizational wellness. He naturally makes dreams reality through practical experiences.

This is done through leveraging the elements of emotional intelligence (Goleman, 2005) to assess and bolster emotional maturity. Sixth Gear employs dynamic, reach-through approaches to connect and optimize HI and AI. Dr. Simmons has developed over 25 commanding officers (CEO's), excelled as vice president of a naval officer leadership-development organization, performed career management at the Navy Personnel Bureau, coached community sports entities, and provided executive leadership and career coaching throughout diverse groups. He devised and instituted organizational programs to accelerate cross-functional qualifications and bolster cultural competence and inter-organizational relationships at-sea, ashore, and in corporate organizations. He also managed multi-million-dollar programs for defense systems, developed Navy Strategic Plans, authored executive briefs for senior flag officers and congressional staff members while assigned to the Pentagon, and authored scholarly articles and book leadership and organizational wellness. Dr. Simmons has performed business development, career coaching in hybrid organizations and mentored and facilitated small businesses innovative research (SBIR) initiatives.
